I'm just a regular guy with a dream, a dream to buy a Porsche 996 GT3.
In fact, this section is now about the 996 GT3.
Produced from 1997 until 2006, the 996 was the fifth generation of the iconic Porsche 911 and if that wasn't enough, it was also the first generation to harbor the legendary GT3 within the lineup.
Initially, the car was produced as a homologation model to compete in the FIA GT3 cup, as seen below.
The engine is a flat 6 derived from the one found in the 911 GT1, one of the craziest works of engineering to ever exist.
It is capable of producing 355 hp and 370 Nm of torque that can propel the car at speeds exceeding 300 kph.
But straight line speed isn't the point, the car has a lot more to offer!
It was the first production car to break the 8 minute record on the NordSchleife, a 20km track in Germany featuring no less than 154 turns.
The record was achieved in 7:56.03 at the hands of Walter Röhrl himself.
